Jeff Sessions is not a good man, not an honest mai, and he is a liar. Still some people in Congress think he should be the Attorney General of the United States of America! We are not some third world country that needs this type to run the American system of justice!
Shame on those who want to vote "Yes" to this man who knows little of justice, and less of human kindness. Sessions is NOT a goo man.
"Al Franken Tears Into Sessions Over Civil Rights Claims"
The comedian-turned-senator poked holes in Sessions' stories of civil rights exploits.

"Franken began by bringing up an interview Sessions gave in 2009, when he became the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Sessions, Franken quoted, said at the time, "We're not going to misrepresent any nominee's record and we're not going to lie about it." Franken then used the next 10 minutes of questioning to suggest that Sessions was actively misrepresenting his own record.
First, Sessions brought up another quote from that same interview in which Sessions claimed to have filed "20 or 30 civil rights cases to desegregate schools" other organizations as a US attorney in Alabama. But in November, Franken continued, Sessions' office said he had filed "a number" of desegregation cases. Which was it, Franken wanted to know. Sessions acknowledged that the record doesn't show that there were "20 or 30" and that "the number would be less than that."
Next, Franken asked Sessions about a piece of his confirmation questionnaire that has come under scrutiny. On the questionnaire, Sessions named four civil rights cases among the 10 most significant cases he had "personally" litigated. But former Justice Department attorneys who oversaw three of those cases challenged Sessions' portrayal of his involvement, in a Washington Post op-ed earlier this month. They wrote:
We worked in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, which brought those lawsuits; we handled three of the four ourselves. We can state categorically that Sessions had no substantive involvement in any of them. He did what any U.S. attorney would have had to do: He signed his name on the complaint, and we added his name on any motions or briefs. That’s it."
Sessions inflates his achievements, which to some is called lying. What else will he lie about to get the job?

"Sessions takes on racism charges; pledges to recuse himself from Clinton probes"
By Tal Kopan, CNN, Updated 8:37 PM ET, Tue January 10, 2017

"Sessions maintained his cool throughout the grilling, repeatedly speaking about how "painful" past allegations of racism have been and defending his record.
Hours earlier, as the hearing began, Sessions didn't wait for his record on race to be brought up before addressing it, diverging from his prepared statement to address "head on" the very allegations that helped sink his nomination for a judgeship in 1986.
"I abhor the Klan and its hateful ideology," Sessions said.

He also pledged to recuse himself from all investigations involving Hillary Clinton -- citing inflammatory comments he made during a "contentious" campaign season -- and said he would respect Supreme Court rulings and US law on issues including abortion, torture and same-sex marriage even if he does not agree with them.
Sessions will likely be confirmed."
""Is grabbing a woman by her genitals without consent, is that sexual assault?" asked Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy.
"Yes," Sessions said.
Sessions had been previously quoted in the immediate aftermath of the tape questioning the contents of the tape, in which Trump bragged about being able to grab women by the genitals with impunity, as sexual assault. He made clear he had not intended to make that suggestion."
Sessions now says he recognizes grabbing a woman by her genitals is assault. Good to see he has learned this in the last few months since he was first asked!
"In Alabama, Sessions Held Views on Criminal Justice Far Outside Today's Mainstream"
Sessions supported the use of chain gangs and life sentences for children under the age of 14.

"Before he joined the Senate 20 years ago, Jeff Sessions supported imposing harsh penalties on juvenile offenders and even bringing back chain gangs—policies that were extreme even for their time and contrast sharply with bipartisan efforts today to move away from the tough-on-crime approach of the 1990s."
Has Sessions changed his mind? Is he more educated and mature now? Will he recognize using "weed" is not worth sending people to jail?
How archaic and out-of-tune with America is Jeff Sessions in his thinking about the legal system and the definition of "junctive?'
"Sessions was also a fan of tough punishments, even those that were constitutionally questionable. In 1995, Alabama reinstituted chain gangs in its prisons—the practice of shackling prisoners to one another and forcing them to perform hard labor. The custom had died out, but in 1995 Alabama Republican Gov. Fob James brought it back. Sessions, then state attorney general, was on board. "I believe it's constitutional and proper," he said at the time. He also said he intended to "aggressively defend any legal challenge against it.'' In December 1996, days before Sessions left for the US Senate, his office released a legal opinion declaring the chain gangs legal."

"Having Jeff Sessions As Attorney General Would Be Hazardous To Your Health"
Judy Stone, Contributor
I cover infectious diseases, medicine, drug development, and ethics.
Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own.
"Senator Jeff Sessions’ confirmation hearing for Attorney General is January 10. Besides his well-publicized stances on race that previously cost him a federal judgeship appointment, his attitudes about women’s health, protections for women, LGBTQ and the disabled communities, among others, should disqualify him from consideration."
Jeff Sessions is a dinosaur in his attitudes and philosophy.
"Sessions' voting record on guns endangers us all. It includes voting YES on
prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers
loosening license & background checks at gun shows
selling guns without trigger locks
allowing firearms in checked baggage on Amtrak trains
and voting NO on
banning high-capacity magazines of over 10 bullets
background checks at gun shows."
"
Health of Children and Elderly
I found some of Sessions' positions on children’s health impossible to fathom. He Voted NO on expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and on adding 2 to 4 million children to SCHIP eligibility.
One particularly disturbing vote was for an amendment to remove pregnant women from SCHIP and instead give coverage to the fetus. This is consistent with the growing trend, in some conservative circles, to try to accord embryos more rights than the women who bear them. (See also the Alabama case just reported by Dr. Jen Gunter where the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that an OB-GYN could be sued for malpractice for the miscarriage death of a “previable unborn child,” with Justice Tom Parker stating that “unborn children are protected by Alabama’s wrongful-death statute from the moment life begins at conception.”
Sessions does not appear to support care for the elderly or poor either. He opposed expanding access to Medicare and Medicaid for low-income people. Sessions supported Medicare cuts and limiting expanded enrollment for Medicare Part D. He opposed including prescription drug coverage in 2000. Fiscally conservative, he voted NO on requiring negotiated prescription prices for Medicare part D and on negotiating bulk purchases for Medicare prescription drugs. Yet he voted a cap of $40 billion per year for limited Medicare prescription drug benefit."
Wow! Sessions is as bad as it gets when it comes to empathy for the needs of the poor and weak!
"Sessions opposed reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.
The Department of Justice defines sexual assault as the following:
Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault are sexual activities as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation, incest, fondling, and attempted rape.
Many of us heard the 2005 recording of PEOTUS crudely boasting of grabbing women "by the pussy." Asked about this, Sessions said, “I don’t characterize that as sexual assault… I think that’s a stretch.”
Don't you think the candidate for Attorney General should know what the definition of sexual assault is?"
Jeff Sessions does NOT KNOW THE LAW he is supposed to uphold!
"
Veterans' Health
One would think supporting our vets would be uncontroversial, but once again, Jeff Sessions was an outlier. In 2014, with the scandal over serious delays in veterans’ ability to receive medical care, Congress passed a bipartisan bill to ease delays by allowing the Department of Veterans Affairs to expand their staffing, and to allow some vets to access care through private physicians. The bill passed unanimously in the Republican House and 93-3 in the Democratic-controlled Senate. Sessions and two other Republicans, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Bob Corker of Tennessee, voted against the bill, with Sessions calling the assistance “an unlimited entitlement program.”"
Sessions has the gall to question support for VETs! They went to war for you, ass hole. Now you think ensuring they are cared for medically is an "ENTITLEMENT?" Medical care is a debt you owe to every Vet, not an entitlement or whatever you want to call it so you can avoid apying your debt to them.
Admittedly not paying debts is a thing Tweety Twump agrees with, BUT as to this "entitlement," and I hope he really means it, Tweety says he will take care of the Vets. The Vets will get the best care in the best hospitals. Good for you Tweety.
Be aware! Beware!
