Tweety has an uncanny ability to seek quick fixes for extremely complex issues, like the terror attack in New York, e.g., harsher punishments and eliminate the lottery for visas, that are silly and will never work, yet he can convince his followers they will work!
Tweety is not the only person in America to hope quick fixes will end terrorism. Example is Andrew McCarthy from NationalReview.com siding with Tweety's "finger in the dike" approach to the leaks in our security "wall."
Many people look at the history of how Muslims and Arabs learned to hate America over the last 100 years, and then study modern Saudis Arabian ultra conservative Wahhabism, and the ISIS/Sunni terrorist ideology. Greg Sargent of WashingtonPost.com gets it, explaining why the quick fixes will not end all terrorism in America, will not protect Americans from self-radicalized terrorists.
Bottom line: America needs immediate action to slow terrorism, and that is what Tweety is trying to of. But America also needs a long term ideological approach to end terrorism.
American must win hearts and minds to change the ideology that leads to terrorist acts. I feel sorry for the people looking for simple quick fixes. There might be short respite from terror attacks using Tweety's quick fixes, but a parallel effort to win hearts and minds MUST be initiated or we will be forever sticking our fingers in the dike as the "terror waters" flood our nation.
America is less secure because Tweety makes us less secure!
