Read America's history to know Americans are clearly a flawed people, a brutish, boastful people, constantly abusing the ethnic people we find in our path to whatever we call "happiness" at a moment in time.  America used slavery to grow the country, killed Indians to grow the country, outcast Chinese and Japanese and Mexican to be sure we maintained control of culture and business and money.  We cursed any religion we did not agree with, as well as people who had different life styles.

Our Government has had good intentions at times, but many bad intentions all too often: Korea, Viet Nam, adventures in Africa, Iran, Columbia,Iraq, etc. - the list is VERY long!

Americans are a bunch of nasty people throughout history, BUT we once had a vision to be the "Good Guy."  I think we were best striving to be the "Good Guy" on the 1950, but I could be wrong because the reason was the United States came out f the World Wars unscathed, the richest, strongest country on planet Earth.  Well, now that vision of being the "Good Guy" is gone, trashed, forgotten.

What is wrong with America?  Americans seem to NOT want to be UNITED any longer?  Tribalism seems rampant!  White Nationalism, Christian Nationalism (Sessions new project in the Justice Department), RACISM as has not been seen before, income inequality and Government tendency to help the top 1%, all hurting what our country used to represent and want to be, values of courage and honesty, and help for the underdog.

Is this more than hating blacks and browns?  Yes!  Sadly!  Whites hate whites too!

"The Divided States of America"
Red and Blue Americans have grown so dangerously far apart, they should be considered different ethnic groups

"The United States is no longer a melting pot; it has become a nation dominated by two very different and increasingly hostile ethnic groups. Their mutual interests are shrinking, their conflicts growing and the implications for long-term stability are dire."

"Intellectual bubbles," internet and social media, lots to blame, but at the heart of America's division is a willingness to abandon what America was trying (it was a gold never achieved) to be: fair, moral, honest, kind, and intelligent, in general, the "Good Guy."  Now we have a President who only represents the people who elected him, and who OPENLY, PUBLICLY disrespects those who did not vote for him at every rally he hosts.  Tweety is mean, nasty, and lies at an incredible rate, and his lies are so obvious!

Tweety's actions are also obvious in the deceit they convey.  His so-called "tough approach" to Russia via sanctions do not hurt Putin!  Tweety is fooling folks if they think he wants not hurt Putin.  He is helping Putin prove America is the enemy of Russia, and Putin benefits I the long run, while RUSSIANS are the ones who suffer!

My research reflects most people think the sanctions can change Russia's and Putin's behavior, but I have a gut feeling they do not hurt Putin, perhaps they irritate him at best.

Even this author, Scott Gilmore, has a convoluted recollection of what America was like in, perhaps, the late 1800s and early 1900s, saying we all got along fine as an immigrant nation.  We had Irish enclaves and many immigrant communities that isolated themselves for security as they were NOT always welcome among "white" people.  I guess there were neighborhoods that got on well with the rest of American society, but it as not all wonderful as described by Scott.

FANTASY I HOPE!  Read on.

"It’s December 2020, and President Donald Trump has still refused to concede that he lost the tumultuous presidential election.

A month earlier, Sen. Kamala Harris narrowly defeated Trump. Even though the incumbent held onto the Rust Belt states he had gained in 2016, record-high minority turnout gave Harris narrow wins in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Democrats also narrowly took back both the House and the Senate, with razor-thin pickups in North Carolina and Georgia. The urban/rural partisan divide continued to widen. And for the first time in American history, a majority of one party’s voters (the Democrats) were nonwhite.

The Trump campaign demanded recounts in the four states Harris narrowly won, blaming “illegal voting” and Chinese hacking. Recounts confirmed the original totals. Trump dismissed the recounts. With the balance of power in both the Senate and House potentially implicated as well, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader John Thune quietly backed the Trump administration."

What can stop the cult-like take over of America?

"Trump ran a brutal campaign, accusing Harris of harboring a secret plan to implement Sharia Law in the US, and promising to open our borders and grant amnesty to millions of “illegals.” He repeatedly said that if Harris stole the presidency (he never acknowledged she could win legitimately), America may as well surrender to radical Islam.

After the recounts, Trump held increasingly large rallies in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, saying a Democratic victory would mark the “end of America.” He openly encouraged violence if Harris failed to concede. Nobody knew what would happen if Trump had to be forcibly removed from the White House."

This is real to me because I think Trump-Tweety thinks he deserves to be President forever.

"To the political left, Donald Trump is un-American: His xenophobic, racist rhetoric stands in opposition to the true American vision of tolerance. It’s an affront to our nation of immigrants, a country in which equality is written into our founding documents. Any Republican who supports or voted for him is guilty by association.

To the political right, it’s the Democrats who are un-American. They denigrate our founding as a Christian nation and want to secularize everything. They want to sacrifice our sovereignty to globalist institutions under the guise of invented problems like global warming and to undermine our exceptional heritage by opening our borders to anybody, even those who want to blow us up. There is only one “real America” and it doesn’t include the coasts or cities where many Democrats live.

We now have two political parties with very different and increasingly irreconcilable ideas about what it means to be American, and, perhaps more saliently, what it is to be un-American."
