What does it say about American values and lost valor when we suggest teachers carry guns to the classroom?

What does it say when we abandon the fundamental principle to live life free of fear for the sake of owning guns, saying defending our country from invasion and / or tyranny means we accept mass shootings.  Kids as human shields for the Second Amendment?

What is the message when we need more laws to prevent mass slaughter in our schools?  It says America is a terrible place to live, PERIOD, notwithstanding our material well being.

America has lost the battle with guns!

What does it say about America when we want to end violence by arming teachers?

"Urgency and Frustration: The Never Again Movement Gathers Momentum"
The torpor of Tallahassee notwithstanding, the Parkland students have managed to force their agenda.

"The leaders of the Never Again movement had started attracting the derision of some members of the right wing. On Tuesday, in Florida, an aide to a Republican state representative was fired for e-mailing a reporter to float the theory that the student activists were paid actors. Kasky suspended his Facebook account because, he said, unlike Twitter, “there’s no character count, so the death threats from the N.R.A. cultists are a bit more graphic.” The student tried to joke about some of the more egregious social-media conspiracies: that their classmate David Hogg was an F.B.I. plant, or a twenty-six-year-old felon from California."

It is sad some people feel a need to troll the activists who do not wish to face an AR-15 in their schools again.

"Kingston vs. CNN: "Do We Really Think 17-Year-Olds On Their Own Are Going To Plan A Nationwide Rally?"

Does ANY NATIONWIDE protest get planned and executed without a large group of helper?  Come on man!  Do not belittle your melineals with your prejudice and disrespect.

Were the CNN Town Hall questions scripted?  Who cares?!?  Were the questions valid gun control questions or not?  THAT is the only thing that matters!

Are these teenagers really too young and stupid to collect themselves and create a movement to bring America intelligent, reasonable gun control?  Yes, they are!

What if a teacher makes a mistake and kills an innocent student who just drops a book?  Police shoot innocent people all the time, so what prevents teachers thinking someone is a bad person?  What if that person has no gun, maybe a knife or a toy gun?

What if a teacher gets angry and becomes the shooter?

What if the teacher takes off the gun to go pee?

What if the teacher is tired, or too old to chase a killer?  What if the teacher is not physically fit enough to dodge the killer, or go after the killer?

What if the teacher makes a mistake with the gun and shoots the wrong student?  Police get it wrong, why not the teacher?  The Parkland police hand-cuffed the wrong kid!

Arming teachers makes things worse by a long shot!

If the gun issue was decided based on the Constitutional right to have and bear arms, laws to manage the guns would be easy to write and pass through Congress.  But the laws are not the issue, money and profits are the issue.

The NRA is not really fighting to defend the 2nd Amendment, they are fighting gun control so they can make more money.  Gun makers will do anything to make more money.  The NRA thrives on gun maker money and fear they generate when Congress and our nation seeks gun controls.

It is about MONEY, NOT the right to own guns.

It is harder to get driver's license in many states than it is to get a gun, even an AR-15.

Traditional talking points against gun laws: 2nd Amendment rights, criminals and insane will be only ones to have guns so NO NEW LAW can help, give teachers guns, harden the schools, work on mental illness, etc.

"‘ATTACKS WOULD END!’: Trump doubles down on arming some teachers, defends NRA
By John Wagner and Jenna Johnson       February 22, 2018

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2018/02/22/attacks-would-end-trump-expresses-support-for-raising-assault-rifle-age-to-21-presses-cases-for-arming-some-teachers/?undefined=&utm_term=.ec5055f58db5&wpisrc=nl_most&wpmm=1

"President Trump on Thursday doubled down on his idea of arming some teachers as a deterrent for school shootings and praised the top leadership of the National Rifle Association as “Great American Patriots.”

In morning tweets and later in a “listening session” at the White House, Trump claimed the strategy of arming teachers would be far less costly than hiring guards. He said “gun-free” school zones make it like “going in for ice cream” for school shooters and said on Twitter that with his strategy, “ATTACKS WOULD END!”"

Why would attacks end?  Did anyone determine the shooters are rationale combatants in a war of some sort?  It's not a war among nations, Tweety, it is an angry, possibly insane boy/man, who has committed to shooting and killing people EVEN IF THEY GET SHOT!

What bullshit did you read, Mr. President, to PROVE having guns will stop attacks?  Oh, I forgot, you don't read, or seek expert advice.

Tweety wants teachers to carry guns, NRA too.  "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun."  Really.  Not really!  That is a stupid comment.  Irrationality as reason!

Teachers with guns makes them targets in the slaughter "game" the shooters play.  Many of these shooters are suicidal which makes them very difficult to shot as they have no fear.  The teacher is likely to have fear, if not for themselves, for their students!

Even trained gunman, police, may not fight the shooter - see Parkland where a police officer waited outside while the shooter killed people.

Who can guarantee a teacher will not be afraid, misfire, shoot a student, be shot by the police, and many more UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES.

It's a challenge to bring down armed personnel first, like the shooter did at the Parkland shooting.  The security was first dead.  Who wants a gun fight at a school!?  Can a teacher go from teaching to trying to kill a shooter as easily as Tweety and gun owners want to believe?  Killing a human is very hard for most reasonable people.  What if the shooter takes the teachers gun?!  A ricochet can kill a student.  What if police see the teacher as the shooter and kill him/her?

"“Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive,” Trump said in one morning tweet."

It's a lot to ask that we train the math teacher to shoot and kill an attacker/shooter.  Do YOU know anything about guns Tweety, since you evaded the draft five (5) times?

K. Conway cannot keep up with Tweety's teacher with guns tweets obviously . . . she defends Tweety saying he did not suggest arming teachers, but here are Tweety's tweets that suggest arming teachers.

"In an appearance Thursday morning on Fox News, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said none of the ideas floated during Thursday’s meeting has been finalized and she criticized reports focusing on arming teachers.

“To focus on that alone today is disingenuously covering the fuller discussion yesterday, and frankly, it’s disrespectful to the people who were in that room raising any number of different issues,” Conway said. [K.C. disrespects my intelligence!  I see right thru her bull shit!]

I never said “give teachers guns” [It sure sounds like you said give teachers guns when you WROTE highly trained teachers ("Gun adept," vs highly trained in karate or escape.) can scare sickos way.] like was stated on Fake News @CNN & @NBC. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience - only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 22, 2018

....immediately fire back if a savage sicko came to a school with bad intentions. Highly trained teachers would also serve as a deterrent to the cowards that do this. Far more assets at much less cost than guards. A “gun free” school is a magnet for bad people. ATTACKS WOULD END!

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 22, 2018

....History shows that a school shooting lasts, on average, 3 minutes. It takes police & first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime. Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive. GREAT DETERRENT!

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 22, 2018

....If a potential “sicko shooter” knows that a school has a large number of very weapons talented teachers (and others) who will be instantly shooting, the sicko will NEVER attack that school. Cowards won’t go there...problem solved. Must be offensive, defense alone won’t work!

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 22, 2018

I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue - I hope!

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 22, 2018"

The idea of "Air Marshal" style security comes up.  But will police know who the Air Marshal is during the shoot out to ensue?

"Speaking to reporters afterward, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R), one of the participants, said there is a need for more protection of students in schools.

“If teachers are armed … they must be highly trained, highly qualified or acting like air marshals, in a capacity like that — former police, former military, coming in in some capacity like that, where they are extremely qualified,” Bondi said. “Not just giving every teacher in school a handgun to carry. I don’t believe that’s going to happen. I don’t think anyone wants that to happen.”"
