Charitable grants are not a major focus of the Clinton Foundation.  The Foundation hires staff to execute humanitarian programs.  This means they do not give away the donations to other charities, i.e., grant hem money, the Clinton Family Foundation ensures the people who need help get the help directly, not thru an intermediary.  That is a good thing, so you should know it.

The charity watchdog group "Charity Navigator" gave the Foundation its highest possible rating, four out of four stars based on a review of the Foundation's financial records and tax statements.  A different charity monitor, "CharityWatch," says 88% of the Foundation funds go to charitable missions.  They gave the foundation an "A" rating for 2016. In 2015, based on revenue of $223 million and an expense ratio of 12% the foundation spent in excess of $26 million to complete its mission, which is considered good for this size of a charity organization.

This foundation is a public organization.  Anyone can donate to the Foundation.  The Foundation is distinct from the Clinton Family Foundation.  The Clinton Foundation is a private organization for personal Clinton family philanthropy.

Donald Trump charity giving is very minimal, and much of it very recent, i.e., during his pursuit of the presidency.

"The Washington Post has made a months-long effort to identify instances where Trump made personal donations to other charities — surveying more than 270 nonprofits with past ties to the GOP nominee. But that effort has turned up only a handful of gifts, the most recent of which was in 2009.

In all, the total of the donations that The Post has discovered between 2006 and May — to the Trump Foundation and other charities — appears to be less than $800,000."

Warren Buffett, a much richer billionaire than Donald, whom Donald called out as avoiding federal taxes like the Donald avoids federal taxes, stated, “My 2015 return shows adjusted gross income of $11,563,931. My deductions totaled $5,477,694, of which allowable charitable contributions were $3,469,179. All but $36,037 of the remainder was for state income taxes.”  Donald is proud he pays other taxes, but not federal taxes, and we all know those other taxes are small amounts.

There was a confusing, perhaps intentionally misleading, or "spin" the reality just for "fun" headline on the web: "96 Percent Of Hillary’s Charitable Donations In 2015 Went To Clinton Foundation" by Chuck Ross in "The Daily Caller."

"Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill deducted $1,042,000 in charitable contributions last year — $1 million of which went to their own family non-profit, the Clinton Family Foundation."  So you know, it is legal to donate to a charity with your name on it; the donated money is NOT going into a personal bank account, it is going to the charity!

To be a charity the organization is legally bound to follow the legalese of charities.  No, this is not a conspiracy with the US Government looking the other way so Hillary can avoid taxes and make more money for herself.  That kind of cheating would be too easily discovered by a simple audit

Check out the charity ratings, any of them that are independent and objective.  The donations to the Clinton Family Foundation go to helping people, not to buying paintings or paying legal bills.

You can read Chuck Ross's article for yourself to see if it makes a real case for wrong doing, of perhaps Chuck is trying to make you THINK it is wrong doing, when it is not.
