"It's not clear yet exactly how the White House will publicize this catalog of crimes committed by immigrants.
But the available data on crime, immigration, and safety in cities does not support the premise for the president's actions. News outlets and researchers pointed out during the presidential campaign that immigrants who are in the country illegally are less likely to commit crimes or be incarcerated than the general population. The American Immigration Council noted in a 2015 study that the recent period of rising immigration to the United States from 1990 to 2013 also corresponded with plummeting crime rates across the country.
This past Thursday, a new study conducted Tom K. Wong, a political scientist at the University of California-San Diego, found that there are broad benefits for local jurisdictions that resist cooperating with federal immigration enforcement — they are safer in the aggregate and enjoy stronger economies. "For the first time we're kind of seeing that crime rates are lower when localities stay out of the business of federal immigration enforcement," Wong said."
People against Sanctuary Cities fail to understand and appreciate the facts crime is lower among illegal immigrants based on single examples of crimes.
Bottom line: Sanctuary Cities have less crime, fewer terrorist attacks, if any.
Why, how can this fact-of-life exist, be true? VERY SIMPLE LOGIC IN ONE (1) WORD: TRUST!
Want three words? FAITH IN POLICE! If an illegal immigrant calls the police to report a crime they do not expect to get arrested for making the call, as they CAN EXPECT IN NON-SANCTUARY CITIES.
Illegal immigrants do not have to fear being reported to ICE in Sanctuary Cities, THEREFORE are WILLING TO CALL POLICE. In a non-Sanctuary City everyone is LESS safe and secure, AND more likely fewer if any calls to police to report crime or terrorist activities.
It is so simple to understand why ICE was more effective deporting illegal and criminal / terrorists activities under Obama who understood why Sanctuary Cities are GOOD!

Illegal immigrants do not commit crimes for the most part, PERIOD.
Thomas Homans does not understand most illegal immigrants have NEVER committed a crime, and support their local police better than in non-Sanctuary Cities where they fear arrest by ICE if they call the police to report a crime. Sanctuary Cities have better police relations than non-Sanctuary Cities. PERIOD.

What data is Thomas Homan reading about crimes in sanctuary cities? Let's make a deal. If the crime RATE in Sanctuary Cities is worse than non-Sanctuary Cities, we can consider Thomas idea. BUT if the crime rate is lower in Sanctuary Cities, Thomas has to wear a pink ballerina tutu in his next interview and apologize for his ignorance, AND for making American cities LESS safe, OK?
AND for each non-Sanctuary city with MORE crime, Thomas agrees to free 100 illegal immigrants who have not committed any other crime other than being an illegal immigrant.
