Employment numbers have been improving for eight years, slow and steady. This helps the defense industry as well as America overall. It is ackknowledged there are states and many geographic areas that have high unemployment. This is how numbers work, AND why all Americans need unemployment benefits from tax dollars to help people who live in those areas in America with a weak economic base.
Some of our states, and poor areas within states, need Government aid so some entitlements are essential. Defense dollars are a form of entitlement don't you think?
The fact a person is poor, likely unemployed for a long time, and has no choice in that they (45 million people, roughly) buy groceries with food stamps does NOT IN ANY WAY make them lazy, stupid, or a cheat. One day any one of us can need and use food stamps. Don't judge people. Judging can blow back on you.
