Perfect picture! Trump likes this picture.
President Trump hosted a school-report scenario TV broadcast in the White House Oval Office to tell Americans he knows about hurricane Michael. This talk was a reality show/SNL-like skit, it was poorly orchestrated and clownish. It was typical Trump/Tweety and it was childish!
The Fox News support and Trump's base will say he was showing he is managing the scene.
I tried to see it that way, but the President did not even know what to say to the people of Florida, so he said NOTHING to the people of Florida! This skit was an incredibly inept show of Tweety's worst side, his total lack of caring and empathy for people who are in harms way!
Tweety quickly went to his planned political campaign rally after.
"Trump holds campaign rally as Hurricane Michael rages"
David KnowlesEditor Yahoo News October 10, 2018
"Hurricane Michael, the third-strongest storm in U.S. history, was not powerful enough to keep President Trump off the campaign trail.
Hours after the Category 4 storm made landfall in the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, wreaking havoc along the coastline before pushing north into Georgia, Trump traveled to Pennsylvania to tout his own accomplishments and bash his Democratic opponents.
“I’m thrilled to be here tonight in Erie, Pa., with thousands of loyal, hard-working and beautiful American patriots,” Trump said as he began his remarks, adding, “Before we begin, I want to send our thoughts and prayers of our entire nation to everyone in the path of Hurricane Michael, especially in the Florida Panhandle, where it’s hitting and hitting hard. It’s a big one.”"
So good of the President to start his rally with sympathy, I am sure heartfelt sympathy, for the people on the Florida panhandle enduring hurricane Michael. NOT!
"Earlier in the day, Trump explained why he was going to Pennsylvania during one of the worst storms in American history. The first death from Michael was reported by wire services during the president’s speech.
Departing the @WhiteHouse for Erie, Pennsylvania. I cannot disappoint the thousands of people that are there – and the thousands that are going. I look forward to seeing everyone this evening.

Under fire over his administration’s response in Puerto Rico to Hurricane Maria, Trump paid special attention to Hurricane Florence in September, and this week, as Michael gained steam, he hosted briefings with FEMA and Department of Homeland Security officials.
But Trump’s partisan, self-congratulatory remarks Wednesday also presented a political danger for the president as most of the nation watched the storm unfold. Even Fox News opted to carry storm coverage rather than Trump’s rally."
I was surprised to witness the DHS and FEMA leads brief Trump, standing next to his desk as he sat at his desk in the oval office yesterday, about hurricane Michael. I got the feeling this was orchestrated and it looked like kids in elementary school presenting a book report.
Trump added some remarks, strange remarks, pointed at a well placed weather map like it meant something to him, and then went on to answer reporter questions about things like the recent apparent murder of a Saudi dissident reporter in Turkey and a visit he plans to another rally in PA.
Trump managed to make this funny scenario about him, not hurricane Michaels, and did not convince me he gives a damn about the people hurt by the storm.
"Trump has already botched his Hurricane Michael response"

"Remember "Heckuva job, Brownie?" Former President George W. Bush infamously muttered those words to former FEMA chief Michael Brown as they surveyed the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina. Of course, the federal response to Katrina was far from sufficient, and Brown resigned in disgrace shortly thereafter. The "heckuva job" line is probably the most (and perhaps the only) well-known hurricane-related presidential quote, and it's not one a smart president wants to top. But on Wednesday, Trump gave it his best shot during a Hurricane Michael briefing in the Oval Office.
"It's like a big tornado, a massive tornado," Trump warned reporters.
As silly as that comment sounds, it isn't entirely wrong. Nevertheless, the moment immediately entered internet lore. But the biggest problem with the briefing was that the president was once again making a national crisis about him, using it as a chance to prove to the world that he has a "very, very large brain." Trump needs to be seen, and he'll use any and every opportunity made available to him, no matter how inappropriate it may seem.
As with many of our political problems, this isn't entirely Trump's fault. But he is certainly making a bad thing worse."
"President Points at Map"

"One consistent principle that guides Donald Trump’s decisions as president is that he acts like he thinks a president who’s doing something on TV would act. Instead of actually doing the thing, he performs the TV version of doing the thing.
As this Hurricane Michael–related clip flagged by a Washington Post video producer indicates, the performance does not always involve A-list, top-shelf acting.
The context here is that instead of just having reporters receive a hurricane-preparedness briefing directly from Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and FEMA chief Brock Long, the White House instead invited them to watch Trump listen to a briefing from Nielsen and Long while seated at his desk, which appears to have gone about as awkwardly as you’d expect.I like when he points at the map, as if to say, “This is a map."
The acting in this weather/hurricane "briefing" was like a rehearsal, and a bad one at that, of a scene for a very bad movie!
The actor playing the president did not memorize his lines, so he was winging it, very child-like, obviously make shift, last minute thrown together BS! How can Tweety's base go along with this crap?

"President Donald Trump on Wednesday received a briefing on Hurricane Michael, as the huge Category 4 hurricane neared landfall on the Florida Panhandle.
"We'll look to Sunday or Monday" for a trip to the storm zone, Trump said during a briefing with Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Brock Long, administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The president said he had a "long talk" with Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R), and urged anyone in the area who had been ordered to evacuate to do so.
Trump also noted that poverty is one of the major barriers to evacuating for many residents in the storm's path. "Some of the areas are very poor. It's not easy for a person without the necessary money to leave," Trump said.
"This was a small storm they never thought would grow into a monster," Trump said. "It's almost the entire size of the Gulf" of Mexico, Trump said."
