Sessions, then Sanders jump on the break-up-families to get funds for "The Wall."  Tweety's real intent kidnappng and imprisoning immigrant kids is to force funding for his ridiculous, wasteful, useless Wall.

The Bible is a VERY ugly book as it is used to do harm, and is unlike anything Jesus would do.  Come on people, men wrote the Bible so it has crap in it that should have never been published!

Jesus did not write the Bible.  Evil people, probably all toxic men of the time, took the opportunity to push their hateful agendas against women, gays, and people of color.

"‘You’re a parent!’ Things got personal in the White House briefing room."

"White House media briefings are often contentious, but Thursday's question-and-answer session got personal.

During one exchange, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said to CNN reporter Jim Acosta, a frequent sparring partner, “I know it's hard for you to understand even short sentences.”

Acosta had asked Sanders about Attorney General Jeff Sessions's attempt, earlier in the day, to use the Bible to justify the Trump administration's immigration policies, which include splitting up families that arrive at U.S. borders seeking asylum.

“I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13 to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the purpose of order,” Sessions said in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Other biblical passages, including some written by Paul, have been cited by advocates of softer immigration policies. In Romans 12, for example, Paul wrote: “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. ... Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.”"

Sanders is a sarcastic bitch, undeserving anyone's respect.

"“Where in the Bible does it say that it's moral to take children away from their mothers?” Acosta asked.

“I'm not aware of the attorney general's comments or what he would be referencing,” Sanders replied. “I can say that it is very biblical to enforce the law.”

Sanders and Acosta went back and forth until Sanders insulted Acosta's comprehension skills. On a telecast of the briefing, another reporter could be heard scolding Sanders for a “cheap shot.”"

Sanders is a cheap shot persona.  A mother who can defend her boss actions, good or bad, at any cost.  Some people call that "whoring," or selling your soul to the devil, but I won't do that.

"Sanders then falsely asserted that the Trump administration is separating children from their parents “because it's the law, and that's what the law states.” In fact, separation is not required by law but is a Trump administration practice that White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly calls a “tough deterrent.”

Sanders is a robot buffoon, lying for the President with no moral compass.

"Sanders then falsely asserted that the Trump administration is separating children from their parents “because it's the law, and that's what the law states.” In fact, separation is not required by law but is a Trump administration practice that White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly calls a “tough deterrent.”

Human shields!  That is what ISIS does!  It is unAmerican, and NOT Christina so do not use the Bible to justify it!

"Sanders gave the next question to CBS's Paula Reid, who performed an on-the-spot fact-check.

“There is no law that requires families to be separated at the border,” Reid said. “This was the administration's choice.”"

Unmoved, Sanders continued to insist, falsely, that the Trump administration is simply doing what the law mandates. When Reid asked whether the administration will “take responsibility for its policy change,” Sanders replied, “It's not a policy change to enforce the law.”"

"Stonewall" Sanders does not care about the truth.

"

Sanders tried to move on from Reid, but Brian Karem, executive editor of the Sentinel newspapers in Maryland, interjected.

“Come on, Sarah, you're a parent!” Karem said. “Don't you have any empathy for what these people are going through?”

“Brian, guys, settle down,” Sanders answered. “I'm trying to be serious, but I'm not going to have you yell out of turn.”

Karem kept going. “These people have nothing,” he said.

“Hey, Brian, I know you want to get some more TV time, but that's not what this is about,” Sanders said.

Karem kept going

“Answer the question,” he said. “It's a serious question. These people have nothing. They come to the border with nothing, and you throw children in cages. You're a parent. You're a parent of young children. Don't you have any empathy for what they go through?”"

So in the tradition and practice of cherry-picking verses from the bible, we see people saying the law must be enforced for God's sake.

Another episode of fake Christianity, morality, justice . . . No surprise that an extremely racist Jeff Sessions (study the history of this man and you will understand how racist he is) uses a Bible verse used to enforce a law on slavery.

"Sessions cites Bible passage used to defend slavery in defense of separating immigrant families"

How sick is it to say God is OK with an immoral act of separating kids from their parents?!

" [Sessions Bible quote]. . . suggesting that God supports the government in separating immigrant parents from their children."

How is it the Bible can be used to justify such a wide variety of good and bad acts?  Because regular, good and bad men wrote it!

"Government officials occasionally refer to the Bible as a line of argument — take, for instance, the Republicans who have quoted 2 Thessalonians (“if a man will not work, he shall not eat”) to justify more stringent food stamps requirements.

But the verse that Sessions cited, Romans 13, is an unusual choice.

“There are two dominant places in American history when Romans 13 is invoked,” said John Fea, a professor of American history at Messiah College in Pennsylvania. “One is during the American Revolution [when] it was invoked by loyalists, those who opposed the American Revolution.”

The other, Fea said, “is in the 1840s and 1850s, when Romans 13 is invoked by defenders of the South or defenders of slavery to ward off abolitionists who believed that slavery is wrong. I mean, this is the same argument that Southern slaveholders and the advocates of a Southern way of life made.”"

Just as it is no surprise Sessions knew a Bible verse that was used to justify slave owners keeping slaves, he also reaches out to "Christians," what I call pseudo-religious.

How can Sessions not be seen as an ISIS-like "Justice Department" leader?

"He [Sessions] appealed to “church friends” later in Thursday’s speech in Fort Wayne, emphasizing that non-citizens who enter the United States illegally are breaking the law.On the same issue, other religious groups and individuals have cited the Bible as well, to take the opposite side.

“Overwhelmingly, Scripture causes families to be kept together,” said Gabriel Salguero, president of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition. “Overwhelmingly Scripture causes us to defend families. As Evangelicals, we have a doctrine to be a pro-family-values people, you know. The Bible calls us to be pro-family, and I personally find it deeply lamentable that we are separating children from their parents at the border or anywhere.”"

"Sessions cites Bible to justify separating kids from parents at the border"

"U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday cited the Bible to defend the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from their parents caught illegally crossing the border.

“I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13, to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the purpose of order. If you cross the Southwest border unlawfully, then the Department of Homeland Security will arrest you and the Department of Justice will prosecute you. Having children does not give you immunity from arrest and prosecution.”   quote Jeff Sessions "

Cherry-picking a verse from the Bible can lead to lots of justifications, including being OK with homosexuality and murder.

What would Jesus do Jeff?  What would Jesus do?  You get entirely different answers to moral questions if we simply try to feel and do what Jesus would do.  Are there other Bible verses to consider, IF we think that is what we need to decide to do the right thing?

We all know the right thing to do is to NOT take the kids, and not use them as a "deterrent" to legal immigration into the United States.
