Here is a man who is smart, intelligent, and well spoken with 12 good ideas for boys and men to improve their lives. Peterson is taking on PC in wrong, immature, indefensible ways with "gender ranking."
Jordan Peterson must be careful not to lend support to the very thing he is fighting.
"How dangerous is Jordan B Peterson, the rightwing professor who 'hit a hornets' nest'?"
Dorian Lynskey 7 Feb 2018
"Not everybody is persuaded that Peterson is a thinker of substance, however. Last November, fellow University of Toronto professor Ira Wells called him “the professor of piffle” – a YouTube star rather than a credible intellectual. Tabatha Southey, a columnist for the Canadian magazine Macleans, designated him “the stupid man’s smart person”.
“Peterson’s secret sauce is to provide an academic veneer to a lot of old-school rightwing cant, including the notion that most academia is corrupt and evil, and banal self-help patter,” says Southey. “He’s very much a cult thing, in every regard. I think he’s a goof, which does not mean he’s not dangerous.”"
More.
"In many ways, Peterson is an old-fashioned conservative who mourns the decline of religious faith and the traditional family, but he uses of-the-moment tactics. His YouTube gospel resonates with young white men who feel alienated by the jargon of social-justice discourse and crave an empowering theory of the world in which they are not the designated oppressors."
Last point from this article. Peterson is a lot of hyperbole to get you to listen to him, and maybe he is "not all that."
"The key to Peterson’s appeal is also his greatest weakness. He wants to be the man who knows everything and can explain everything, without qualification or error. On Channel 4 News, he posed as an impregnable rock of hard evidence and common sense. But his arguments are riddled with conspiracy theories and crude distortions of subjects, including postmodernism, gender identity and Canadian law, that lie outside his field of expertise. "
Peterson is confused when he says and thinks the Canadian law is seeking gender equality. The law is fighting discrimination based on gender.

"Jordan Peterson and the transgender wars"
The psychology professor is in trouble with the transgender crowd. He is also one of the foremost thinkers of our age

" . . . Peterson’s many lectures on the subject of psychometrics, an academic discipline that mainly focuses on empirically measuring the variations in different psychological traits between human beings, including across the axis of gender."
I think I might agree with Peterson, to a degree. He seems fair.
"At the University of Toronto, after receiving two written warnings, he has been in danger of losing his job following his announcement that he would refuse to use the preferred gender pronouns of students and faculty who don’t identify with their biological gender, to the fury of radical transgender activists. The use of such pronouns is mandatory under a recently instituted Canadian law, Bill C-16. Peterson rejects the injunction on free speech grounds. ‘I’m not going to cede linguistic territory to post-modernist neo-Marxists,’ he says. He has expressed the view that he might use the preferred gender pronoun of a particular person, if asked by that individual, rather than having the decision foisted on him by the state."
Maybe he gets a bit off here tho. Thinking is good, but do we all need say everything we think? Peterson has a response to saying what he thinks whenever he wants.
"‘If I can’t say what I think, then I don’t get to think, and if I can’t think then I can’t orient myself in the world, and if I can’t do that, then I’m going to fall into a pit and take everyone else with me,’ Peterson says.
Peterson’s thought-crime is that he disagrees with the view of transgender activists that gender is a social construct and has no grounding in biology (although he is not opposed to transgender rights in general). So why does his right to free speech trump a transgender activist’s right not to be offended? Why not just keep his thoughts to himself?
‘Because thoughts aren’t like that,’ he says. ‘People mostly think by talking. Not only do they think by talking, but they correct their thoughts by talking. If you deprive people of the right to think, then you doom them to suffering. You doom their stupidity of its right to die. You should allow your thoughts to be cast away into the fire — instead of you.’"
So if Peterson cannot offend people by blurting out what he is thinking he cannot think?
Peterson's thoughts abut women are downright idiotic notwithstanding any dat he has gathered by whatever means.
"His claims about gender — that women consistently differ, cross-culturally, from men on many of the Big Five personality traits identified by psychometric researchers — are, in psychology circles at least, not particularly controversial. These traits are Openness, Neuroticism, Conscientiousness, Extraversion and Agreeableness (each of these are technical definitions that are somewhat more precise and different in meaning to their casual usage as terms).
‘These traits are not social-cultural,’ says Peterson. ‘The evidence is crystal clear. As you make a country more egalitarian, the gender differences get larger. Most particularly, women are higher when it comes to Agreeableness — wanting everyone to get along, not liking conflict, compassionate, polite, self-sacrificing — and Neuroticism — higher in negative emotion and more responsive to grief and threat and punishment and isolation.’"
So women are so different . . . Peterson has trouble integrating with them in various ways and places.
"‘We are all monsters and if you don’t know that, then you are in danger of becoming the very monster that you deny,’ he says."
Oh? Peterson appeals to men for a reason, and it is not always because the men and boys are lost. I think Peterson's appeal comes from a deep seated misogyny within himself he has not acepted.
"his unorthodox Christianity that is responsible for Peterson’s immense online audience. It is gender. More than 90 per cent of his audience are men, which seems a pity since there is nothing particularly gender-specific about his teachings. Why the imbalance then? ‘Because these men’s stress levels are very high,’ he says. ‘I’m telling them something they desperately need to hear — that there are important things that need to be fixed up. I’m saying, “You guys really need to get your act together and you need to bear some responsibility and grow the hell up.”‘The lack of an identifiable and compelling path forward and the denialism these kids are being fed on a daily basis is undoubtedly destroying them and that is especially true of the young men.’"
Peterson thinks / suggests men and women cannot work in the same office!? Apparently he gets a little tingle in his you know what when he is around women who wear make up! No self-control is the reality of this man. No respect for other humans either.
This clinical psychologist is against the PC steps taken in Canada and in his university HR department to protect LGBTQ people. His tact is different than folks who use the anti-PC banner to insult people, to be rude and mean. This professor is suing this banner to sell his books, and a lot of nonsense to allow discrimination and hate. Yes, HATE is on Peterson's agenda, whether he is aware or unaware.
Make up women use gets this guy a stiffy? What if there was no make up? What if you were gay?
Vice News interviewer was shocked but I have the questions Vice News could have asked. Why do you wear a tie and / or a suit? Why do you shave? What are you concerned about women wearing make-up? Can YOU work with some? Most men of an adult, moral, TRUE intelligence and maturity can work with women despite their make-up.
Jordan Peterson's question about make-up reveals him as fake, ignorant, and unaware. One older, bearded professor says if we are intelligent we can understand why Peterson is pushing back on use of they and them pronouns versus he and she. Peterson wants to use he and she. Peterson can do what he wants. BUT he has to go along with society and the law, JUST LIKE THE REST OF US.
"How dangerous is Jordan B Peterson, the rightwing professor who 'hit a hornets' nest'?"
Since his confrontation with Cathy Newman, the Canadian academic’s book has become a bestseller. But his arguments are riddled with ‘pseudo-facts’ and conspiracy theories
Incredibly stupid people can be dangerous I suppose, but if they are THE MOST STUPID, can they be dangerous?
This guy says he is worried that the words he says will get him locked up. It will not be jail, my friend, it will be a mental institution.
Does Peterson also want to bring back lobotomies and shock therapy for mental illness cures?
"The Canadian psychology professor and culture warrior Jordan B Peterson could not have hoped for better publicity than his recent encounter with Cathy Newman on Channel 4 News. The more Newman inaccurately paraphrased his beliefs and betrayed her irritation, the better Peterson came across. The whole performance, which has since been viewed more than 6m times on YouTube and was described by excitable Fox News host Tucker Carlson as “one of the great interviews of all time”, bolstered Peterson’s preferred image as the coolly rational man of science facing down the hysteria of political correctness. As he told Newman in his distinctive, constricted voice, which he has compared to that of Kermit the Frog: “I choose my words very, very carefully.”"
The man sounded like his notion against identifying people by pronouns was right, and using pronouns was wrong, an over-the-top PC reaction to sex identification. Peterson doesn't acknowledge the LGBTQ community sensitivities, the hate they endure, and the discrimination faced by LGBTQ peoples.
Peterson is neither sane, or "intelligent" in the normal sense of either word.
"Two years ago, he was a popular professor at the University of Toronto and a practising clinical psychologist who offered self-improvement exercises on YouTube. He published his first book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, in 1999 and appeared in Malcolm Gladwell’s bestseller David and Goliath, talking about the character traits of successful entrepreneurs. The tough-love, stern-dad strand of his work is represented in 12 Rules for Life, which fetes strength, discipline and honour."
Tough love? Peterson is stupid, insensitive, out-of-tune, and uncaring . . .
"His ballooning celebrity and wealth, however, began elsewhere, with a three-part YouTube series in September 2016 called Professor Against Political Correctness. Peterson was troubled by two developments: a federal amendment to add gender identity and expression to the Canadian Human Rights Act; and his university’s plans for mandatory anti-bias training. Starting from there, he railed against Marxism, human rights organisations, HR departments and “an underground apparatus of radical left political motivations” forcing gender-neutral pronouns on him."
Selling books doesn't take much if you can make mountain out of a mole hill.
