"Minnesota Congresswoman Ignites Debate On Israel And Anti-Semitism"
by Cody Nelson March 7, 201912:47 PM ET
It is an over-reaction to say Omar is anti-Semitic. The reaction is more against her as a Muslim, in my opinion, than what she said. Being Muslim made it too easy to go after her comments, an easy tribal way to respond without thinking. The proof of missing the mark is how some Democrats and some Republicans sought a stand alone vote on anti-Semitism, FOR THE DONATIONS THEY CAN GET FROM AIPAC, in my opinion.
"House passes anti-hate resolution after days of debate over response to Omar comments"
Some Democrats and Republicans wanted a standalone vote to condemn anti-Semitism

"
Updated 7:51 p.m. | The House on Thursday overwhelmingly — but notably, not unanimously — passed a resolution to condemn anti-Semitism, racism and Islamophobia, ending days of spirited debate over the appropriate response recent comments from Minnesota Democratic freshman Ilhan Omar.
The final vote was 407-23. All of the “no” votes came from Republicans, including their No. 3, Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming. Cheney was among the first three “no” votes recorded, and several other Republicans seemed to be following her lead.
The first member on the board as a “no” was Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert, who said before the vote he was opposed because it wasn’t a direct rebuke."
Yep, Republican shows his tribalism, and anti-Muslim side. Rep. Gohmert allegiance to the all might dollar from the AIPAC lobby is showing. What was Gohmert's reasoning?
"“Anti-Semitism is a very special kind of hatred that should never be watered down,” Gohmert said. “There has never been a persecution of a people like the Jewish people.”"
Really? Actually all racism and hate is bad, and none is worse than any other. How can hate be compartmentalized? Oh, yes, by dollars and contributions. Gohmert sounds a tint racist to me. And several Democrats joined him, showing the fragmentation of that party.
"During floor debate on the measure, Republicans poked fun at Democrats for spending all week agonizing over the language of the nonbinding resolution, even though some said they’d support it.“This week, the entire week almost, has been taken up by sentiments of a member that were anti-Semitic,” House Judiciary ranking member Doug Collins said.
The original draft text of the anti-Semitism resolution that Democratic leaders circulated Monday was four pages long, and the final, broader anti-hate version was seven. Collins, who voted for the resolution, said he received three or four different versions leading up to the vote.
“How long does it take to figure out, ‘Just don’t hate?’” the Georgia Republican said. “How many pages does it take to cite ill and evil? Evil is evil.”
Some Democrats also weren’t pleased that the resolution was broadened, softening the original response to Omar’s comments ."
Trump will win in 2020.
The Democrats missed the mark by a mile when they chose to single out a PC mistake by Rep. Omar in a tweet, followed by a completely honest exchange in a constituent meeting about lobbying pressure from AIPAC to manipulate US government polices, The Dems and all Rep. Omar critics of what she said in the constituent meeting took a few words out of context and decided Omar had doubled down on her "anti-Semitism."
The only time you can say criticism of Israel and Jews is anti-Semitic is when the words say Israel cannot exists as a sate. THAT IS IT!
President Trump will win in 2020 because the Democrats are stupid.
"Ilhan Omar Is Not Antisemitic"

"The rush to condemn Ilhan Omar says more about the vacuousness of our political discourse than the supposed bigotry of her comments."
"I’ve Faced the Charge of Dual Loyalty"
It was anti-Semitic then, and it’s anti-Semitic now.
Mar 7, 2019 Rahm Emanuel 44th mayor of Chicago
No, Rahm, you took her comments out of context and you are wrong to say we cannot criticize lobbyists. Omar did not say Israel could not exists as a state. Omar did highlight the Palestinian plight, but her comments absolutely were not, NOT anti-Semitic. It also is not anti-Semitic to say it seems like dual loyalty when our government serves lobbyists requests before they serve constituent needs.
"Maybe I’m sensitive to this charge of dual allegiance because it’s been wielded against me in some of my political campaigns. I’ve been accused of actually being a citizen of Israel. (That’s not true, although my father was an Israeli immigrant to the United States.) In 2002, well before Donald Trump and other “birthers” questioned Barack Obama’s citizenship, I had to produce my U.S. birth certificate in my first run for Congress to disprove false assertions about my background and loyalties."
No one whined as much as we hear for and from the Jews and Israel today, as when Jack Kennedy's loyalty to the Catholic Pope was questioned when he ran for President. I guess Jews get more care and love than Catholics? Are they really the "chosen people" as Mike Pence would say (Christian Zionist).
Are you anti-Muslim Rahm? Are you happy with, and do you support Israeli killing of unarmed, rock throwing, frustrated, starving Palestinians?
"My allegiance to this country wasn’t in question then. And it shouldn’t be now—nor should that of other American Jews. That would be just as wrong as suggesting that all Muslims are potential terrorists and should be banned from entering this country. What president would possibly embrace such an un-American position—until the current one?"
Omar was not questioning patriotic allegiance, she was questioning allegiance to the dollars from lobbyists. Listen to the whole story, sir.
"The Ilhan Omar anti-Semitism controversy, explained"
Why her comments about “allegiance” to Israel created such a firestorm — and why it all matters.

"There’s a fine line between legitimate self-policing, militating against a UK-style disaster, and helping Republicans smear a Muslim member of Congress they don’t like. The House resolution, however well-intentioned, initially put Democrats on the wrong side of it.
But things changed. The Democratic leadership, under pressure from progressive groups and officials like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), appears to be postponing the vote till at least Thursday. They’re currently planning to revise the resolution to make it less of an implicit condemnation of Omar, or even rewrite it entirely.
“A draft resolution would be updated to include additional language rejecting anti-Muslim bias, although some Democratic sources believe that an entirely new document might be crafted,” Politico reports.
This is a victory for Omar. It’s a sign that she has significant support in the party, and that leadership isn’t willing to throw her under the bus entirely. A lot, however, still depends on the fate of the resolution: what it ends up looking like, or if it gets introduced at all."
It got introduced, and it got passed naming all hate as bad. Hurray!
