Propaganda is a tricky thing, and it is incumbent on us to discern when we are being manipulated. We are all guilty of looking for the material that supports our beliefs, but we have a duty to support our beliefs with facts, not propaganda.
Want more evidence of the difference between this asinine cartoon comparing Franken's satirical comment 18 years ago and Tweety's during his "Presidential" campaign? Try this out, a word from Tweety's White House, for which NO APOLOGY HAS BEEN FORTHCOMING!
"Aide Who Said McCain Is ‘Dying Anyway’ Still Works at White House"

"Washington (AP) -- The White House on Friday declined to condemn comments made by a special assistant to President Donald Trump dismissing Sen. John McCain's opinion during a closed-door meeting because, she said, "he's dying anyway."
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters she would not comment on an internal staff meeting, but said that Kelly Sadler, the aide in question, remains a White House staffer."
Then, after these ugly words were somehow "leaked," the White House is more or less defending them! Sarah Sanders, just doing her job, has no comment. Tweety has demanded people be fired when they criticize him, so I wonder what would he say about being treated like this staffer treated McCain?
Cowards! Sick sycophants! Very sad!
Plenty of Tweety supporters do not care to know the truth; same for Democrats who hate Tweety. Both sides are very tribal, which is very bad for America.
Nevertheless, when Tweety is the man in the White House, where the "buck stops" so to speak, where his leadership dictates the character and values of the office, he owes America, and its true heroes like McCain, MAXIMUM RESPECT even if he does not like the hero. BUT that would be the mature approach which Tweety does not have in him, where Tweety is as petty and small minded as a human can be.
You have to look into the nature of the man who makes the comments, Franken is a serious, caring, compassionate, intelligent adult, and Tweety (he tweets so much crap and lies so much it is intolerable) is a bully, ego maniac, trash talking infant. In Tweety's most cruel impulses he meant what he said about McCain NOT being a war hero, Franken was being satirical, AND THAT IS DIFFERENT! It IS DIFFERENT!
"That time Al Franken joked about McCain's war hero status"

"Washington (CNN)Before Al Franken was a U.S. senator, he was a comedian and political satirist -- one who joked about Sen. John McCain's status as a war hero.
"I have tremendous respect for McCain but I don't buy the war hero thing. Anybody can be captured. I thought the idea was to capture them. As far as I'm concerned he sat out the war," Franken, a Democrat who now represents Minnesota, quipped to Salon for a 2000 article about the stakes of that year's presidential election.
Franken's comments are getting new life 15 years later amid the controversy surrounding Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's comments this weekend that McCain -- who was tortured for more than five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam -- is "not a war hero."
Standing alone, Franken's comments could seem insensitive to POWs and their families, but an episode of Franken's radio show four years later that included McCain as a guest made it clear that the comments were intended to be received sarcastically."
More.
"Franken also wrote in his book "Lies: And the Lying Liars who Tell Them" that the McCain joke is "called irony" and got "big laughs" when he told it at the 1999 White House Photographers Dinner.
Trump made his comments over the weekend in a much more serious setting -- making his pitch to voters on Saturday."
Do you see that CONTEXT and INTENT re important? I hope so. I hope you have the wisdom to see the difference.
